Thank
you Sandra for arranging my trip details so perfectly. When I decided
last October to visit Costa Rica this spring, I was unaware of all
the craziness around Easter week. When I did find out much later
about all the problems surrounding travel during Semana Santa, I
tried to make a few plans on my own--from the U.S.--but without
much success. I don't like to plan my travel, I usually like to
just get off the plane or train or boat and then make it up as I
go along, but it was obvious that I needed help this time.
I really appreciated your advice about not trying to squeeze too
much into the days I had, and your recommendations for day trips
worked out great. The intimate little hotels you set up for me were
much more to my liking than the resort-style places I was finding
on expedia.com and elsewhere. And Juan Carlos going out of his way
to pick me up at my last hotel and bring me over near the airport
was fantastic first-class beyond-the-call-of-duty service. Thanks
again, and I will be recommending Green Tropical to my friends and
associates when they make their travel plans to your country. Hasta
la proxima vez

We
wanted to thank you for making our visit to Costa Rica a very memorable
time. Veronika did an excellent job of planning our trip and everyone
we worked with from Green Tropical Tours was very friendly and helpful.
All of our accommodations were comfortable and each was special
in its own way. We especially enjoyed the three days when Juan Carlos
was our driver/guide. So many times one visits a country and sees
the sights, but never comes to know its people. Being with Juan
Carlos made us feel that we had a friend in Costa Rica. His help
was greatly appreciated when our traveling companions lost their
credit card. We hope you will share the attached picture with him.
We had a wonderful introduction to Costa Rica and hope to return
in the near future. When we do, we will be sure to contact Green
Tropical Tours again. Until then, we will recommend your services
to any friends who travel to Costa Rica. I have posted a message
about your company on fodors.com travel forum.
Sincerely,
Karen and Don

El
otro día oímos una frase que describe la biodiversidad
de Costa Rica: "... si realmente Noé cargó hace
miles de años una barca donde recogió todas las especies
animales y vegetales del planeta, sin duda desembarcó en
Costa Rica".

Thanks
for Making Our Vacation So Great!
Hi
Constanza,
We
arrived home safely on Saturday inspite of the hurricane Charlie
running over Florida. D'Orsay and I had a wonderful time on vacation
and wanted to thank you for setting up the arrangements. I must
say that everyone we met from your country was wonderfully helpful
and kind. We appreciated having Mauricio serve as our guide for
the volcano Poaz, La Paz waterfall, and volcano Arenal portions
of the trip. It got us off to a great start.
We
were also glad that we had a chance to meet other people traveling
the country as we took the boat and bus ride to Moneteverde. We
actually saw some of the same people in the national park and on
the street in Manuel Antonio! One restaurant you should mention
to others while they are in Monteverde is "Sophia." The
food is excellent and the owner very nice. She stopped by to talk
to us briefly while we were there. There also is a good pizzaria
in Santa Elena that has good food too! We liked the local beer--Pilsen
and Imperial, and cheese.
The
pace of the trip was just right and the trip to Talacon Hot Springs
after whitewater rafting was the perfect end to a fun day. We loved
the massages we scheduled and got to take the last bus out with
all the locals so that was a fun way to end the day and get back
to the hotel.
The
canopy tour and zipline runs were great. We overcame our fear of
dangling from a wire and by the end of the 11th run decided we could
do this all day! The walking and exercise were just enough for us.
We
managed to see the sunset while we were in Manual Antonio. The tour
through the National Park was very enjoyable. We saw a lot of wildlife
(monkeys, sloths, iguanas, crabs, snakes, birds etc.) and walked
up to the lookout before taking a swim. I can see why people want
to stay for weeks on end.
All in all this has been a great vacation. Thank you for setting
things up, for modifying the arrangements as we needed, and for
giving us somewhere to turn if we needed help. Let Mauricio know
that we would have liked to get together with him to see some more
of San Jose before flying out but circumstances really required
us to stay near the airport and make sure we had either a flight
out or a hotel room to wait out the hurricane. Please let the owners
and the others know how much we enjoyed the vacation. You have a
very wonderful country and the people made the experience memorable.
Thanks.

July 2004.
We're
still thinking about, and talking about, our incredible vacation!
Thanks
so much for your efforts that made this vacation possible.
We
knew we wanted to go to Costa Rica to experience the rainforest
environments and see the diverse flora and fauna. We knew we wanted
to go to Tortuguero, Arenal volcano, and Monteverde Cloud Forest.
We contacted Green Tropical with our sketchy plans and they put
together a tour that included those locations, as well as Manuel
Antonio and La Selva Biological Reserve. The latter turned out to
be one of the best tours of the trip. Our guide from Green Tropical,
Maurice, was a 'birding' expert who was also enjoyable to travel
with. All our travel/tour connections were punctual, and our lodging
was super. We cannot say enough about the extra effort that Sandra
and Juan Carlos made to make our trip enjoyable, including having
to shift all our reservations back one day at the last minute because
of a flight delay and a missed connection. We highly recommend their
excellent tour service.
Best regards,
Steve and Sandy Rendig |

I
can't recommend Green Tropical Tours highly enough! Our itinerary
and accommodations were exactly right and prices were excellent,
while our local guide was knowledgeable, personable and added many
"extras" to our experience both in the forests and on
the road. Thanks to them, we saw birds, flowers and vistas we'd
never have appreciated on our own.
One of our group broke a leg on the trip and Juan Carlos and his
wife was great in the way he handled the crisis, got her comfortable
in a hotel & sent her home.
In addition, Juan Carlos knew everything you ´d want to know
about birds, mammals, plants etc. I learned a lot!!! (we saw a 9-banned
armadillo & a fer-de-lance & cayman with some very impressive
teeeeeth!)
Their focus is : tell them waht you want to do & how much time
you have to do it and they will arrange it for you.
Our vans and drivers were professional and comfortable and the food
was excellent! We'll never forget our views of wild life and the
river rafting, kayaking and zip lines!
I'm convinced we could never have seen Costa Rica as thoroughly
on our own and I'm sure we'll all be returning to this lovely country.
THANKS, Green Tropical Tours!

November 2003
I
am writing to say thank you to Green Tropical
Tours
for a great trip to Costa Rica and to provide some information to
others as to why I was so impressed.
I
don't speak any Spanish and so wanted to take the first part of
my two week vacation in Costa Rica with a tour company. I researched
50 companies (I am not kidding); all but two had things in their
tours that I didn't want to pay money for (I didn't need a tour
guide to sit on the beach). I was 28 years old and was also a little
concerned the there would be no one close to my age on these trips.
I ended up choosing Green Tropical Tours.
Through
more than a dozen emails, Sandra and I came up with a tour that
I was happy with. It required no back tracking, no downtime, and
for me seemed to get the most bang for the buck in terms on hitting
the hotspots that most people want to see.
I
and a friend, arrived in San Jose on Nov 28. Sandra came to the
airport to pick us up. The next morning we were to go white water
rafting on the Pacure River. The rafting company picked us up and
brought us to the river, but after a long night of rain it was too
dangerous to go on the water. We were dropped off in our hotel in
Guapiles where it was arranged that we were being picked up the
next morning. I was quite dissappointed, as the rafting trip was
$95 each, and we had lost a whole day. Sandra from Green Tropical
called us at the hotel that night, and ensured us that we would
get our money back from the tour. This seem too good to be true,
as we had been taken on a 1.5 hour bus ride, and fed a buffet breakfast.
From
Guapiles we went to Tortuguero NP for 2 nights, then to Arenal for
1 night, and Monteverde for 2 nights. That ended our organized tour,
but we still had the trip back to San Jose, and our last night in
hotel paid for. Sandra arranged things such that our last night
in Costa Rica would be covered whenever we decided to leave, and
our trip back to San Jose would be taken care of (all we had to
do is call and give one day notice of where we were).
For
our last week, we went to Rincon de la Vieja national park for 2
nights, El Coco for one night, and Tamarindo for 2 nights. The interbus
picked us up at Tamarindo and brought us back to San Jose a day
early to try the rafting trip again. It was cancelled again because
of high water. We flew back to Toronto on Dec 12.
The
night before we left, Sandra came to see us off, and even gave us
a christmas present. Wonderful lady. We did get a full refund on
our rafting trip, and had no problems at all during our two weeks
in Costa Rica.
I
would recommend Green Tropical Tours to anyone.
